Welcome to
The Mud Room
Black Games. Black Culture. Black Joy.
A playful extension of Dennis Maurice Dumpson's research, cultural work, and commitment to Black joy.
Often disregarded, mud is part of the world's most ancient technology — it builds houses, grows seeds, makes textiles like mudcloth, and even strengthens our immune systems. The Mud Room honors this technological marvel that has been central to Black sustainability and power building — the place where Mud meets Magic.
Take your shoes off. Relax a bit. Learn something about the Black Radical Tradition through our signature game, The Mud Code™ — and a few others while you're here.
